What are some of your recommendations for tacos in Houston?

Actual downtown…or just in the loop?
Breakfast? Taqueria style? Sit down restaurant?

Just go to Xochi and ask the waiter what to order. Then come back and thank me later

East Downtown-Brother's Tacos...best for breakfast, OG Ninfa's on Navigation...tacos de pulpo, redfish, or bacon wrapped shrimp...everything else there is meh.
Montrose-La Mexicana...for me, best breakfast tacos around...it's the shite my grandmother and mom cook, barbacoa, chicharron en salsa verde...Pit Room for BBQ tacos...Tacos Tierra Caliente, taco truck next to West Alabama Ice House...grab a couple al pastor or lengua, walk across the street and order an ice cold Lone Star at the Icehouse, also have a decent torta....Candente for birria tacos
Wash Ave/Rice Military/Heights/GOOF-La Vibra, Puebla's, Polanquito
Chains-Torchy's...I think the breakfast tacos and queso are the only things left worth ordering here...Taco Deli...I find everything here to be over salted...Velvet Taco...most inventive, their tortillas suck, queso is good...sooo net positive?

HUGO’S
I’m not sure if it’s really downtown.
But it’s the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. It’s incredible. The cocktails and the food. Everything

Birria los primos is downtown in underground hall and it's good
There's a place on Durham called TJs I believe that was good as well
Supposedly there's a good birria taco truck that sets up shop at the spring street beer garden but I've never been
But the best place in the city for birria is outside of the loop in spring branch at a place called tacos dona lena
