Stroubes is fine for a steak but it can be hit or miss there

I used to strongly agree with this. I've been a few times recently and I'm starting to see much more consistency. I'm not sure if I've just been lucky so take it as anecdotal.

Filet at digiulio's, butter steak. Simple but good.

I agree with this, great steak.

It's been a while since I've been there, do you still have to ask for it to be cooked this way, or is that how it's offered on the menu?

Every time i have been they list butter steak and pepper steak as options. Butter steak is much better of the two.

I assumed it was a typo for Stroubes considering the thread title.

Yeah, I know it said best in BR. And you can easily get the spelling mixed up. But I threw it in there earlier saying it was the best steak I've ever had in my life. Can't believe none of you connoisseurs had never eaten there... R.I.P. Stroud's

Probably about 5-8 years ago. Mr. Stroud was pretty old and I guess couldn't keep up with everything. And his son could never stay out of trouble and run the place right. I was really sad to see it go. Last time I ate there was for my birthday in 2006.

It's not in BR, but the best steaks I've ever eaten were at Stroud's Steakhouse in Lafayette. The place was voted top 10 steakhouses in America several times. I wish it were still open...

Best ever. Wish it was still open
