I hear sonic is having a good deal on corn dogs. 100% chance your food is made by a mexican.

Emmer and Rye for brunch, make a reservation. It's walkable from VZ.

Also, Launderette on east side is great for lunch.

Curra's is one of my favorite Mexican places.

South Congress Cafe is a popular brunch spot.

Mexican: Curra's, Matt's El Rancho (Bob Armstrong Queso), El Alma.

Brunch: South Congress Cafe, Contigo, Moonshine.

Given you are staying on Rainey, you may want to try brunch at Bangers.

If you want specialty Tacos, Torchy's is a must (they also have the best queso known to man). Tacodeli is also very good.

Don't go to Matt's. Its really below average.

Torchy's is good...Veracruz is my new fav. They have trailers at 2 locations but I go to the one at Radio Coffe & Beer. You can take your tacos into Radio and get a good craft beer and sit down.

Other good lunches:
HopDoddy....always a line but if you tell the guy at the door you want to sit at the bar and have a beer he will tell you when a spot at the bar opens up. Usually cuts your wait way down.

Easy Tiger- Good beer selection and food, nice outdoor court yard.

Dinner:
Whip In- Pub with great Indian food.
G'Raj Mahal-Indian Food on Rainey-Food truck with really nice outdoor seating area.

Will try. I wish they had brick and mortar in austin. It looks like there's one in round rock.

Dude who doesn't like Matts doesn't like queso.

And Taco Deli > Torchy's. Torchy's might be the most overrated thing in Texas.

I've tried lots of good Mexican places in Austin. Matt's has good food, but there are far better places. I've had their queso too...it's good, but I don't get the hype.

That's debatable. Tacodeli has more menu items, but it loses points for not being open after lunch. It's queso is also pretty weak. But taco for taco, I could go either way.

Explain yourself. You like taco deli, which has similar types / styles of tacos, so your statement doesn't make sense.

I always liked Tacodeli and Maudie's. Ate at Eddie V's and I have no complaints there.

Kababalicious is great late night.

Was coming to say this. Be sure to get the Manmosa. An entire bottle of champagne with a splash of OJ.

Like I said, the one at Radio Cafe is essentially brick n mortar since you can take the tacos into Radio Cafe and grab a drink.

You know how I know you have shitty taste? Torchy's Green Chile Queso>>>>>>>>Matts. Matts is for old white people that are afraid of mexican food.

I won't deny that Torchy's has great queso, but their tacos? Come on. They are average at best.

Taco Deli keeps things simple and uses high quality ingredients were as Torchy's dumps every ingredient known to man on a taco.
