Not a sake guru by any means, I like the hot sake at Japanese/hibachi restaurants & want some to drink at home.
Where’s the best place to find some?

Is usually not the best. Should be the regular gekkeikan or sho chiku bai at any regular grocery store.
World market, whole foods, and other nicer stores will have a bigger selection of good stuff to serve slightly chilled.

Ichiban has sold me bottles before

I order it hot at most places bc it’s cheaper but prefer chilled. Try this stuff if you can find it, meant to drink chilled though. First tried it at Soji in BR

Find you a nearby Asian Supermarket. I find they have the largest selection. I have bought some that comes in small containers that you can heat up with instructions but most of what they sell are to be chilled.
World Market usually has about 4-5 different types on their shelves.

Try the Asian Market next to Bao on Perkins.

I've bought it at World Market. I don't know much about sake so I can't comment on the quality.

No way, I’m sure I paid a premium

Rouses @ Juban carries it. They have the 750ml & the 1.5L bottles. Same brand that comes in the large cardboard box @ most Japanese restaurants.

Jinya Ramen Bar in Perkins. Extremely good sake that you can purchase a bottle from.

Albertson's carries Gekkeikan, and if you're not a connoisseur, it will work just well for you. The key is to not overheat it in the microwave. Just 30 seconds or so. Once you get it too hot where you see the vapor coming off of it and it's too hot to drink, you've ruined it. A lot of Americans also don't realize that if you get a sake in a restaurant that's way too hot, don't hold the bottle around the neck. The sake bottom is thicker and designed for the fingers to not get burned.
If it's a really fine sake, I'm drinking it chilled.
For those who love sake, especially chilled, see if you can find a bottle of Karatama. You can get it in a smaller bottle as well. Obviously the label is in Japanese, but it's recognizable by the color of the bottle.
Another one is Sho Chiku Bai ginjo (not to be confused with the standard Sho Chiku Bai), which comes in small frosted bottles and in three designs. These can also be found at your Asian Marts.
Both of those can be found in BR and are meant to be drank cold. I have them in Lafayette here.
Denshin is another one of my favorites but I haven't seen it down here. I'm sure Houston carries it.
Chicago has Mitsuwa Marketplace which is a predominantly Japanese Mall, with a huge grocery store which has a couple of aisles devoted to nothing but a variety of hundreds of sake. I'd pick up a random bottle and bring it back to the Japanese Chef I worked with and he would translate everything on the label and tell me the description, and we then tasted together as well. I really miss Mitsuwa.
