I like La Carreta alot for the style you mentioned. Solid ingredients, good presentation.
As far as super double authentic, I don 't know much about that, but am willing to try some of the places mentioned.

I see a lot of people mentioning La Tiendita, and don't get me wrong, I really like the place. But to say it's the "most authentic hands down" is nonsense. There are other places in town that are just as authentic, including La Morenita, which in my opinion is better than La Tiendita. I am willing to bet that the majority (if not all) of the people who are saying La Tiendita have never even been to La Morenita.

Just ate at Mestizos. Not traditional, but still pretty damn tasty.
Also a bit pricey

Mestizo's is better cajun mex on that street. Just gotta deal with all the Michael Sam's in the place.

Mestizo's went crazy with price increases when he moved into the Acadian location. His prices on Sherwood Forest location were much more feasible IMO.

I agree. That's was our fault. Our firm designed and built the Acadian location. We killed their budget. But in our defense, they wanted broze statutes outside with LED lights and other gay shite.
They are still trying to fund the entrance. But they do have good food for those willing to pay for a legit crawfish enchilada.
Fyi, I quit that company.

I also enjoy La Mexicana on Siegen. It close to CICis pizza and such.

Dos Hermanos, if you're in a pinch on the east side of town.

The other poster has you going in the wrong direction. The apartment complex you both speak are diffrent addresses.
La Tiendita is NOT by the I-10 Overpass. The messican place across Siegen from that apartment complex is a mexican store and buffet, like Panchos. It is named "El Magey."
La Tiendita is between Team Honda and Lindsays Bouncing Tigers/Riverside Patty on the South Side of Siegen between I-10 and Airline. There is an apartment complex across the street, yes. The one one next door to TJ Ribs - not near the driving range.

I'm not much for rating places, too many variables, but Fernando's on Coursey always surprises me with how good they are. My favorite is the pablno fajitas.
