I usually do in oven on rack UNLESS I'm using it in a recipe which calls for crumbled bacon. It needs to cook in its own grease to get to that level of crisp in order to crumble it properly.

Why so many oven recommendations? Cast iron skillet and if you like it extra crispy then use a grill press. Don't overthink it. It's bacon.

My wife does it outside in cast iron.

I cook on this. If you cook it lower about 325 degrees it takes longer but the fat renders clean and you can use it for something else.

Thick cut with a slight crisp. Super crispy bacon sucks arse.

I can cook 2 lbs at a time on my blackstone griddle. Plus, every time I cook bacon it adds another layer of seasoning on it. Best method I’ve found.
