Haven't had a Zydeco salad in a while...without the tomatoes and croutons of course.

Where is the Gyro salad?

I have tried several Chicken Shawarma salads and the only one I really like is Kamal's Kafe in Gonzales. I tried the Gyro there before but didn't like it.

I'll have to try the Mason's burger sometime!

I like the salad at zippys minus the rice/beans.

Any stores that sell locarb products? Healthfood stores usually don't...

Options are so limited eating out and trying to eat low carbs. It is frustrating as hell to me.

Any meat salad combo should be fine minus the croutons.

Don't get low cal dressing. Better to eat normal dressing than low cal which uses sugar to make up for the lower fat.

Main problem with eating out is the insane amounts of sodium per dish.

I guess not all meat is safe because of the sauce the restaurant might dump on top, but grilled meats without heavy glazing or sauces should be fine.

I know you asked for particular places but most places have low carb options. You just have to be willing to PICK them when you get there and not opt for the fried seafood platter.

Might want to check stats on slaw. It usually packs a ton of sugar because of the dressing. I was shocked when I looked up nutritional information on it in various restaurants.

Glad to see some fellow low-carb'ers. I find restaurants easy, just get extra veggies and meat. Heard some people bring locarb tortias to mexican restaurants and chow down on queso and fajitas.

It's the pantry that's more difficult for me. Order everyting now at Netrition

Also, since we're on the subject, I like Ryan's Steakhouse.

Salad (have GREAT ranch)
Meat and veggies
Sugarfree jello or pudding

So easy and really pretty tasty if you get the right stuff. Plus, inexpensive.

I think low carb is the one diet that is easier to manage eating out than others. Can always find some meat and veg.

My low carb rule for any Chinese buffet (sorry if that's too poor for you fine diners) is: nothing with a batter, no rice, no noodles, nothing sweet & sour, no meat that is red or orange even if it doesn't say sweet & sour. That still leaves me with a number of options of meat and veg. I chow down on shrimp, mussels, crispy green beans, black pepper chicken (or cat, whatever), shrimp egg foo young, hot & sour soup, etc. Just watch for sweet sauces and leave that part off.

Exchequer Restaurant (lunch). If none of their entree specials are low-carb you can order the grilled chicken off the menu. You can choose three sides from about 7-8 different vegetables.

Golden Corral buffet too. Just choose the right items and it's a low-carb meal.
