I've been a few times. Everything I tried was fantastic, up until the last time I went there. They changed something with the sauce that goes with the Penn pasta, or someone messed it up and it was my favorite.

They have a great gyro pizza, and their tiramisu is/was fantastic.

What advice would you people that frequent these places give to a person opening a small arabic styled restaurant/diner?

How much arabic decor is too much in Louisiana?

What makes one place better than another?

Any must have dishes or drinks?

Tia.

Roman’s, Serop’s, albasha, cafe Phoenicia, etc.

Pretty sure the BR area has the most Mediterranean places this side of Detroit or the Atlantic Ocean.

if you're in Gonzales go to Rende's Quick Stop. Probably the best chicken shawarma I've ever had.

Yep. By far the best I have had. They make it spicy. Love their rice as well.

Louis (sp?). He’s funny as shite but their food is ok at best in my best.

I love Romans. Zorbas is really good but for some reason I’d choose romans right now over anything else.

No pics of the World Trade Center or 747’s.

The waitresses should be belly dancers.

The bus boys and maitre’D should dress in character.
