I received a black iron pot for Christmas and I am looking for recipes other than jambalaya and gumbo. Please share your best recipe. Thanks in advance.

Brown meat. Brown onion and bell pepper. Throw it all back in pot. Cover with water. Cook until you are tired of drinking and ready to eat. Season with slap ya momma and garlic powder.

you can do anything you would normally cook in a stainless cookpot or Dutch oven. I've heard that you cant cook with tomatoes in them, I have not researched this and not really sure if it is true.

I've cooked plenty of sauce piquantes in mine. Tomatoe sauce, tomato paste, rotel. It doesn't matter. As long as you don't leave it in there over night. Clean it and oil it and it will stay good.

First thing you should do is fill it halfway with oil and fry some chicken thighs. Like a family pack.
