Are you guys going up the chain of command to CCD's ownership? I would be telling them how you are buying Mockler products instead of CCD, because you know they will be fresh. They may not do anything about it, but then again, maybe they will... Can't hurt.
I tried for the longest time. Promises were made, things stayed the same. Eventually it got to be just like talking to a wall. Just not worth it any longer. Why continue to get upset when you know what's gonna happen?

Per capita consumption:
Louisiana - 37.1 gallons/year
Oregon = 30.6 gallons/year
It's not that close.

Tell me about it. It's same shite, different day with them. Yet they still manage to convince these out of state breweries to sign with them. I truly don't get it.
I know the local Mockler rep here was pretty bummed about losing out on this. He was sure they had it, especially given that the newly hired regional rep for Bell's was hired away from a partering distributor. The one good thing in this case, is that I know the Bell's rep. I can text her and she'll get things right. But that can't always be said about some of the other national breweries.

If you think BR has it bad with Crescent Crown, you should hear the guys here in Lafayette. Ya'll may get 2 month old stuff, but we get NOTHING.
Last batch of Grace and Grit, Lafayette was supposed to get 5 cases, total. CCD salesman just gave it all to one account in BR and called it a day. Lafayette ended up with zero, and all the guys on the waiting lists were just SOL.

Wow, what a tremendous loss.

Can smart beer managers for stores go to the distribution hub and pick up their own allotment?

Yes.
A few did that yesterday for Ghost.
ETA: I believe one of the issues with CC though is that the beer is sitting in New Orleans, not BR.

I hear you
Smart stores will be proactive and get the fresh product.
They can pass that price on to customer, and it will be gladly paid. People that know beer understand the distributor frustration.

Y'all need some beer bloggers out there.

I'm not sure I understand this statement.

I think he's saying that a lot of beer drinkers would be willing to pay a $1 premium for day old IPAs that the store had to pick up directly from the distributor, rather than wait the standard 2 weeks to 1 month for CC to deliver it to Baton Rouge.

Thanks for translation, 00

In reality, CC and their brands probably don't give a crap if individual beer drinkers are frustrated.
Until breweries start losing taps and shelf space in Baton Rouge due to CC's poor service we will continue to getting shitty service and old beer.

No different than any other big(ger) business. As long as the $dollars$ keep coming, why should they care?

I wonder how much business CCD gets from craft beers? No doubt mostly what they are worried about is Coors.

On the plus side, at least we might get some pre-aged expedition stout.

Bell's isn't a particularly small brewery and their beers have been offered here in Alabama for a while. Why not distribute it to more surrounding states?
It takes awhile to build up brand and to know the market.
Saint Arnold's is effectively pulling out of North East Louisiana by not selling anything but lawnmower up here. They still do pretty well down south. I imagine you don't want to grow too fast

its probably kinda hard for the old balls in MGMT over there to understand. For decades they have been rolling it in with a care in world about the beer being "fresh"

It's both, I believe. They receive old arse product and then it just turds away because nobody wants old arse IPAs.
I'm guessing Crescent Crown is in charge of Oskar Blues. Talk about shelf turds. I still see some Pinner IPA with a date of May 2015 on the shelves.

OB has the same problem in Houston. Should just feed year IPA's to cattle
