Habaneros produce like crazy. Same with ghosts.

Sounds great, I make two simalar, I do this one with 14oz can of tomatos.
I also do one with Jalopenos, soranos and tomatillos, with Habaneros, onions, garlic, all grilled until they are chard, then puréed wit cilantro and garlic.

Please post your recipes if you don’t mind.

Good to hear it meets your needs. I tried different things with that hot sauce and the recipe I posted is what I'm most pleased with.
Like mentioned, I'm not much on those fruit infused hot sauces since I like to eat it on a lot of the food I cook and have to add it afterwards since the wife can't handle the heat those peppers bring.
Nothing like a couple pieces of bacon, eggs over easy, toast and a hot bowl of orange tinted grits in the morning to get the day started.

We usually buy Marie Sharp hot sauce when we go to Belize
You realize not only can you order her sauces online, but you can order them in gallon size jugs with a pump spout?

Have you tried the same recipe with ghosts? I have a ton I need to do something with and I think I am going to try it tomorrow.

Yes I have and it is a good bit hotter, so you can use less Ghost Peppers to make it since Ghost Peppers are a fair amount hotter than Habaneros.

I think I am going to go with the same amount and light myself up.

If you really want to light yourself up, dry your ghosts then grind them up for ghost chili powder. Then don't wear a mask when you take the grinder lid off.
Don't ask me how I know this.

My wife want let me make any sauces with ghosts when she is home. The last couple of batches I have put them in my smoker.

True story:
I had an abundance of ghost peppers one year and decided to dehydrate them and then grind them a bit to use as pepper flakes. I cut the peppers in half, but left the pith and seeds in the peppers and put them in my dehydrator on the kitchen countertop.
A couple hours later my stepdaughter comes over and goes in the kitchen to get some ice out the fridge and starts coughing and comes in the den as says something was tearing her up in the kitchen.
I go in and I can tell it's the peppers, but they didn't have the same effect on me, but I moved the dehydrator outside on the back porch to finish and left the windows open to air it out.

Ha ha.ive gotten where it doesn’t affect me much either. I will make a batch after the wife goes to bed and will go to sleep leaving the blender , pot , funnel etc in the sink. She will get up the next morning pissed I left dirty dishes in the sink and start drawing them in a sink of hot soapy water and come out coughing and cussing me.

Just bumping this to let gumbo know how much I’ve enjoyed his recipe along with everyone I’ve shared it with! I get what you said about making it by the gallon!

Thanks for the heads-up.
Every person I've given my hot sauce to eventually runs out and comes calling for more, so it must be about as good as I think it is.
Glad you like the recipe as it took me a few tries to get it to that level.
I put the finished hot sauce in pint mason jars to hand out and 8 pint jars make a gallon, so it goes quick.

It is really good. The habanero flavor really shines through.

Looks great!
A few years back when I had my blood orange tree I made a Blood Orange and Habanero hot sauce that was fantastic! I winged the recipe and it basically had the same ingredients except for blood orange juice instead of the regular.

What are the best things to eat with this sauce and the one below?
Posted on 2/9/21 at 4:06 pm to mouton
I've made this hot sauce several times with a slight difference, instead of water I use a 14 oz chopped tomatoes and six UN seeded habaneros, carrot is the key.

I really like it on eggs and tacos.

My Carolina reaper tree ( this thing is literally probably seven feet tall) is finally producing like crazy in it’s second year after nothing last year. I decided to make a batch of sauce using 30 pods. (Some on the smaller side) I used a modified version of Gumbo’s recipe because it is so good! Waited to the wife was asleep and put the dog in the yard. Face is still on fire an hour later. Flavor is really good though I find it takes about a week for the flavors to meld. Really hot but not so hot that is inedible. At least fir me. I make more concentrated sauces more as a novelty that are barely edible . Ha. Once again anyone that enjoys growing peppers and making sauces is welcome to post their recipes. Next batch will be with some beautiful yellow seven pot primos I have coming in that will be a thicker more concentrated sauce. This made enough fir at least another bottle but I only had two bottles in hand.
