A buddy is traveling to LA this weekend and has offered to mule a few things back, so just wanted to be able to tell him the best stores to go find the good stuff. He'll be around UCLA mostly.
Also, what beers should he be looking for?
I know RR, Alpine, Lost Abbey, Pipeworks...anything else?

AleSmith makes some great beers. Get him to grab you a Speedway Stout.

If you can find some rare barrel, have him buy it all.

Rare barrel is in Berkeley. And I'm not sure if they distribute.

If in Orange County Hi-Time in Costa Mesa is great. I would think you'd have a real hard time finding any of the Alpine stuff, but I was able to find a lot of Alesmith, RR, Lost Abbey, etc there.

Pipeworks is in California?
I'd also go for Almanac, AleSmith, Mike Hess, Modern Times, and Port
