If the brisket and ribs and sausage are good, it's a good BBQ joint.
That said, some very good sides at BBQ joints:
Killens brussel sprouts
Corkscrew baked beans
Pit Room green beans
Insterstellar cole slaw
Roegels collards, chili (w/ brisket)

The Pit Room has some legit queso they offer as a side if you’re feeling like a fatty that day.
Took the fam to J-Bar-M today because the weather was nice and my kids like fricking around with the calf roping dummies they have….never again.
2 one meat plates, 1 two meat plate, 2 drinks plus tip…almost $100.
It’s a good thing that place has Tejas Toyota money, because after Willow left, it has taken a spectacular nose dive.
Khói BBQ’s first pop up of the new year is tomorrow…ordered a little bit of everything…brisket, ribs, sausage, beef rib curry, whole hog banh cuon.

They had the green beans. Wish I would have got them.

Its tough to nail down their exact style, but that is a wonderful thing. Its the perfect blend of Asian, Cajun, and traditional Texas barbq I have ever eaten. Their bao buns are out of this world. Indescribably good. The brisket burnt end steam bun with hoisin barbq sauce was the best thing I had there. Until I had the smoked pork belly fried bao buns. Top 3 meal of all time.

honestly the sides at truth and the pit room are what separate it from pinkertons. They are all top tier meat so got to split hairs.
The mac'n'cheese, orka and tortillas at the pitroom are elite.
the stick ribs at blood brothers are great too

I hit them for the first time over Christmas. Outstanding beef rib and brisket. We had a big gathering and grabbed takeout from them and Kreuz both. It really is amazing that those two places are a 1/2 mile apart. Thought they were each definitely better than the two places in Luling, and those are as damn good as well.

Tejas has some good Brisket and excellent burnt ends.
