All Louisiana style food is better than BBQ. Everyone thinks they have the best recipe of BBQ and then you get over there and it's some dry arse brisket and chicken.

Sounds like you need some different friends.

I make my own, my recipe is at home but heres what i remember;

Apple cider vinegar
Worcestisher(sp?)
Lemon juice
Red pepper
Garlic
Squirt of ketchup
Pinch of brown sugar
Black pepper
Onion powder

I think thats about it, but ill double check when i get home though.

I hate living in an apartment, i need a smoker back in my life.

Rusty's has it and I believe Full Moon does as well. As does Johnny Ray's.

Johnny Rays didn't when I was there and I never cared for Full Moon.

Your points was that it is very regional and wanted proof it was in BHam, not whether you liked a place.

Saw's

I really need to get over to Birmingham to try this place. I've been hearing great things.

I like all kinds of bbq but lately I been loving some vinegar based sauces. Love to hit up Archibalds for a rib plate!

Name the places in Bham that served it. I lived there for a decade and never saw it.

Moe's has one but you have to ask for it.
Full Moon
Golden Rule
Saw's
Miss Myra's

Moes is barely a real BBQ place

How so? They have a big smoker and serve bbq. It isn't like some places that slap BBQ sauce on a sandwich and call it BBQ.

It is some solid stuff. Just simple, no mess BBQ. He has a few other restaurants that do other stuff besides BBQ too. One of te best burgers I've ever had. Also, if you go to Saw's Juke Joint in Mtn. Brook, get the Pork n Greens. It is their pulled pork on top of cheese grits and smoke collard greens, then topped with shoe string fried onion rings and BBQ sauce.

It's just not a BBQ specializing place. It's a hangout for kids who miss Auburn and want something to soak up alcohol before going across the street. Might as well call Chilis a BBQ place too since it's on the menu.

Moes has the best smoked chicken wings.

Are you talking about the one in Lakeview? The only one I've ever been to is the one on Rocky Ridge, about 1.5 miles from my house. There's not much across the street except an old Gas Station and a little strip mall.

Huh? Why is it for people who miss Auburn, and how is it not a BBQ specialization place?

I do love Moe's wings. Haven't had Saws to compare but Moe's wings are legit.
