maybe they can sell it to one of the others?

Other food trucks? Or other Dempseys? Both Dempseys are same owner. Jefferson has closed, so there is just Coursey and Prairieville.

What happened with this? Why did everyone quit? Why did Dempsey's restaurant on Jefferson close?

Eh, reasons.

sorry, we don't run the truck for lunch anymore. Come visit inside our new restaurant inside Uncle Earl's Bar 3753 Perkins

My dad will be disappointed. He frequented the place often when they'd stop by downtown.

Also: A food truck downtown by your office building is nice because we don't have a ton of downtown options. Also not bad outside a large office building elsewhere: The Advocate, hospital, etc.
Traffic on Bluebonnet, Essen, Siegan, etc. is awful at lunchtime.

I really wish they still dropped by United Plaza off Essen. I work there now and traffic is awful trying to leave for lunch.

My 3 favorite trucks -- Ignatius Reilly's, Curbside, and the pizza one -- are no longer around.

I've never understood the food truck fascination, here, there, or anywhere. The food is generally average, not necessarily cheap, and you have to eat standing up in most scenarios

I would say Austin Food Trucks have very good and in a few cases fantastic food at reasonable prices. There is always a place to sit. Just got back from there and had great meals at 4 different trucks.

It doesn't fit your lifestyle. For me it's awesome. Roll out of Tips and need something to eat at 1 am what are my options ? Walk to 45 Tchoup, Ms, Maes, or Le Bon Temps, and hit up a food truck.

All the good food trucks now have their own restaurant or work for someone else. I quit going when Curbside and Dolce Vita left.

I work on Tulane Ave where there aren't very many eating options within walking distance for lunch, so I appreciate when the trucks park at Tulane Medical center or LSUHSC.

I like La Cocinita and Fat Falafel.

No clue about the remaining Baton Rouge food trucks. I like Dolce Vita, and think that Curbside's burgers at Barcadia are meh.

Get the mushroom swiss with the caramelized onions and praline bacon and see if you think the same thing. That burger made me weep tears of pure flavor. I bottled them and used them to cure cancer. However, the government has since absconded me to a remote facility out of reach of a barcadia so I can't continue to harvest that delicious, delicious cure.

Yeah, losing them and the pizza truck were a blow that the local food trucks never recovered from. Thank goodness Curbside (aka Barcadia) is opening up on Highland Road at the North Gates of LSU in the fall (in Serrano's vacated spot).

Anyone have any idea how this is coming along? Are they on schedule and such?

A friend of a friend was supposed to be having their birthday there this past Sunday, so I thought maybe it was open.

No idea though. Their last Facebook update was March 11.

No clue. I just know that they were shooting for August 1st, and if not, hoping to be open in time for the first game of football season.

Dempsey's food truck will be back operating in September. They shut it down for a few reasons but were never going to operate it during the summer months. Just too hot in the truck without A/C.

Bogdan (Dolce Vida) has a brick and mortar in NOLA on St. Charles. It's much better than what he had out of the truck. More options.

What happened to the Chicken Shack truck?
