Barbera has replaced Chianti for me

I've really been enjoying Barbera wine lately with Italian food. For my palate it is what I always wanted Chianti to taste like.
Any other fans out there, and good recommendations on best value Barberas?

I love Barbera and prefer it to Chianti.
However, you need to have access to a solid wine shop to procure decent barbera or any good Italian wine. IMO.

I think it takes a while to gain a taste for Chianti, at least it did for me. Chianti can be harsh, it's generally highly acidic and in spite of being grown in a warm place, it's rarely fruit forward. But I really like it now and drink a lot of it. Good Riservas, like Felsina, Fontodi, Fonterutoli (I call them the Fs), especially with 10+ years of age on them, can be stunning wines. But Barbera and Dolcetto are great for popping and pouring with pizza or pasta and are generally pretty reliable. There aren't a lot of Italian grape varietals I don't like.

I don't know a lot about Italian wines but I do really like Nebbiolo.

We just went to Barberesco and Barolo in November.
We drink Langhe Nebbiolos constantly now.
Barberas for the most art are just ok to me.
