I do home canning once in a while, mostly pickles, relishes, preserves, etc., and my last trip to get some Ball brand jars and lids I noticed some shortages. Is anyone else who does canning having any problems buying with jars, etc.?

Also, the price is much higher than I remember from the start of the year.

Newell brands, the company who makes ball, mason, golden harvest etc. stopped all shipments until March.

I seen some shortages on jars but have been able to find lids.

Fillmore container is a great place to order canning supplies from. Shipping is a lil high but their prices on jars are hard to beat.

I order from Target and their prices have been reasonable, including shipping.

Yes. Covid supply issues along with more people using them.

My parent make their own sauerkraut and they need 200 more jars and it’s getting crunch time. Might have to scrap a bunch

Jars were hard to come by, but they seem to be more plentiful these days. They cost about as much as they used to at Walmart, maybe a little more. Online prices are absolutely ridiculous.

I buy mine at Rouses here in N.O. for the most part and have not had a problem finding them when I need them. They usually have quart, pint and half-pint jars on the shelves, along with rings and seals.

Pricing is kind of silly though with pint jars being almost as much as quart jars-----maybe just a buck or two cheaper for the dozen.
