Still one of my favorites but my wife had a bad meal there once and so now she won't go back.

Deal breaker for me, ha.

Not the best place, but when I’m craving some Louisiana seafood I’ll go to Quality Seafood.

Perla’s and Clark’s were places I’d use to hit up a lot when I lived south of town lake.

Edit: can’t believe I forgot Clay Pit. That’s my favorite Indian place in Austin.

Never been to any of those. I generally stay away from "Cajun" outside of Louisiana. Even there, it's iffy.

I've become obsessed with Dan's and with fight to the death over it.

Thanks for your suggestions though. Definitely going to try them.

Perla's and Clark's are owned by the same group. Definitely not Cajun by any means. Seafood sure but from all over. Great oyster selection from East coast to Pacific.

We've liked nala's, graj Mahal, and asiana plus the food truck on s 1st. Indian is my favorite

If you've got a good lamb mahkani/butter lamb place, let me know.

Perla’s and Clark’s are very similar, owned by the same group. More high end seafood, mainly oysters and shellfish.

I follow the same rule. But it’s half market half restaurant and reminds of fisherman’s cove in Kenner.

Exactly. I mistyped. Meant to say those two are seafood and places I like to hit up.

Agreed. I love to go there and get loaded on vodka and eat oysters.

No, you didn't mistype, zap's just high. Filthy stoner.

I love perla's. They get really good Pacific oysters. Their patio is the best in the area.

Dans is good, they do a real good milkshake. If you like burgers check out Top-Notch, they do charbroiled burgers in an old school drive-in.

Clay Pit does a real good coconut curry lamb.

Whip-in has some Indian dishes but it’s Indian bar food, if that makes sense. The food is good but not as good as it used to be. Honestly, the chevron across Mariposa from whip-in has the best samosas in the city. I would walk there from my old place and get a samosa and a case of beer.

Jew Boy Burgers are the best in town. Currently in the process of moving from a food truck park on burnet over to a brick and mortar on Airport Blvd.

The owner is a super frickin nice guy to. Would always shoot the shite with everyone who came up to order and is well liked around the city. Can’t find a negative thing about him anywhere

Get a damn massive burger for 9-10 bucks

Also a fan of Top Notch, Crown and Anchor, and Dans.

Top notch has that old school grill that really chars up the meat which I love

That looks like a damn good burger.

Crown and Anchor is a fun place to drink and has solid bar food.

Yeah I mentioned I liked how Top Notch does their burgers. Their fried chicken is really good too.

Easy Tiger has decent food and is great when the weather is cool enough to sit outside in the courtyard. The bakery upstairs is really good.
