Not meant at your family member, but this doesn’t mean anything generally speaking. Last time I was in Asheville, I had some friends who hired a lady from here that lives there to do crawfish.
The crawfish were muddy ditch-water tasting even though it was ordered from home. I was surprised the people from other areas were going to town on them.
I’m not saying Cajun in another state can’t be good but so far hasn’t been a winner anytime I’ve tried.

Not sure where you will be, but if you are ever out near Black Mountain (20 minutes or so east of downtown), Black Mountain Biscuit Company and Fresh are both very good.
Fresh is a pizza/pasta joint that I always make sure to hit up when I'm up that way.

Very very underwhelming meal. Every course lacked any kind of seasoning. Pretty bland overall. Service was good, didn't get any cocktails so I can't shed light on that.
