No doubt you would be in the top 2. I know of an ex-poster who claims to make a great Christmas sugar cookie.

Judges would be me and Arse with Nesquick and Beam to wash it down and cleanse our palates.

I've never turned down any cookies. I like to eat them pre-baked.

I'm guilty of eating cookie dough too more than actual baked cookies .

Cookie Lady (that's what I call her,) Joan Farrell-Mathis, in New Orleans makes the best. They're thin, crispy and have almond extract, which is key to me. Her icing is perfect. Everything about them is perfect. They're like chips. Addicting. I want them. Now. I love them. Can you tell?

I don't believe her recipe is out there anywhere. I order from her and if it's going to be anywhere near a big holiday or wedding season or the like, I order months in advance. People have probably already started ordering for Mardi Gras from her. The cookies are so cute, too.

They're dreamy cookies. One bite and you're a goner. Have had them at quite a few weddings, as well. Friend of mine's daughter got married in Mobile and my friend had them at the reception. The AL folks apparently didn't try them. There were a lot left over, so she told us to wrap them up our do rags and bring them back to the hotel hospitality room to put in ziploc bags. Glad I had a large purse. We had quite a few do rags full of them.

Well, I'm not a grandmother, Glass. I wasn't born in the early years. I don't know why I had a larger purse. I think I forgot the one I was going to use at the wedding. In this case, it was a good thing.

Oh and two Gumps married, though the mother is an LSU gal. Hard life she has married to a Gump and living in Gump land. A lot of the cookies were Gumply decorated, but I ate them anyway!

My grandmother made them.
I remember her putting them on some kind of red baking mat.
Am I making that up?
What's that red mat?

Was this for real? I never can tell...

I went to The Brown Derby on Louisiana Ave. on Mardi Gras day pre-K and was asked on several occasions if I was lost.

Yeah. Maybe that.
It's been a while.
Does anybody have anything that resembles a recipe?
