Heard about a seafood restaurant in New Orleans called Deanie's and I was wondering if any of you have ever tried it? I was told they have one location in Bucktown and the other location in the French Quarter.

I normally stay away from Bucktown, but I've been to the Deanie's there. Great stuff, at least back in the days.

It is not horrible, but there are much better places.

I used to go with my grandparent's a fair amount. Pretty standard seafood spot.

I think the only time to go there is when Hebert is broadcasting.

If you're not at Deanie's in Bucktown, you're not at the real Deanie's (or so I've been told).

This. It also feels like a neighborhood kind of place where they staff recognizes 99% of the customers and you aren't one.

Only ate there a few times, But I thought it was very good for what it is..

Fried and boiled seafood.

But do not go there hoping to find anything original or outstanding... for that is what its not.

I can't hear the word "Deanies" without hearing Buddy D's voice telling me this. Talk about a long-time ad campaign that backfired when they decided to expand.
