This article from January said they’d be back up and running by summertime. I’m guessing COVID slowed them down.

they are another victim of the china flu scam and will never reopen now that their restart capital is gone and wasted when then had to cancel the restart

K. Is this the start up capital they got this time? Or the capital they got last time right after the fire? I am starting to think these guys are just going to make these “opening soon” announcements every couple of years when they run out of cash in order to get some more walking around money.

Did they not have insurance on the property that burned down? That insurance would have been enough to rebuild, right?

Think there was some sort of split of the ownership wanting to rebuild as well.
Maybe half took the money and the money left wasn't enough to rebuild.

As a facility that manufactures a product, why would Covid19 have any effect on their opening? They could get all the supplies they needed to make the pies, their workforce would be contained inside the plant when at work with the exception of delivery drivers to deliver the product to area stores.
It's not like they had hundreds of people coming into the plant on a daily basis buying product or dealing with the general public to make their pies.

Yep. They kept making public announcements, but people I knew in the industry kept telling me that they were full of shite.
The family doomed the company a long time ago with their stupidity and all of the press releases in the world weren't going to make it really happen.

You’ve already eaten you’re last Hubig’s pie.
And, seriously, they were nothing special.

I live on the west coast. Once a year, for a big LSU football game, I throw a party with King Cakes, Zapps ... shite like that. Thought Hubig’s would be another nice addition. Try to bring a bit of Louisiana to game day at my house.

Let's just say your source is misinformed.
