It wasn't any better at 2

Lots of people just "checking it out" so I doubt it stays that crowded for long. Eventually those people will realize they can't afford to shop there

I hope so! Thursday night was my checking it out night. Yesterday morning I bought some steaks and a few other things (wasn't bad either of those times). Today was much more crowded. Three visits in four days ... I am just contributing to the problem.

yeah... Yesterday there were a ton of Wal Mart shoppers there just checking it out. Hopefully in a month it will clear up

I grilled my 2 pounds of free meat today. Their steaks are f'n awesome

* all of their hot food is self service. With the crowd that was there yesterday, I was scared to touch any of it.

Yea. I counted today. I've been 7 times since Wednesday. But 2 of those times were to just go drink and eat dinner at the bar!
I'm sure I'll find a reason to go back tomorrow

I need to check out maxwells

Today was my first trip, and was glad to see they stock BOTH of the beers I drink (used to have to go to Marcello's for one, and either Phillipe's or Albertsons for the other).

Wine prices are mostly on the high side. I.E.- 14 Hands Cabernet is 17.99. About $14 everywhere else in town.

Sampled some salmon jerky and it was good.

My kids got a big pepperoni pizza and they really liked it. Oldest son gave high praises for the sushi.

Can't help you fin on the duck fat question.

My wife brought home tomato basil soup from Maxwell's the other day and it was good, but definitely very sweet, unlike the more acidic varieties in town (this one's for you Darla, but you might like it).

Maxwell's is awesome. Only place I buy steaks from.

Glad you have one in Lafayette to enjoy.

In Baton Rouge, the duckfat is in the case with the artisan cheeses.

Yellowfin, where did you find it? I had someone walk me around to 3 different departments and we couldn't find any. They were actually quite baffled at my request.
