re: Austrian Heuriger (VIenna Recs)

We took the tram to Grinzing and walked to a bunch of different heurigen. I don’t really remember which ones...this was in 2010. I think Rick Steves’ Vienna (or maybe Austria) book had a walking tour of that area that we did, and we probably went to some of the ones he recommended. I’ve heard Grinzing has a touristy reputation, but it didn’t seem that way to me. We went in April though.
If you have time for a day trip, I definitely suggest taking the short train ride to Krems/Durnstein in the Wachau valley, and then renting bikes and riding along the Danube visiting different wineries. Makes for an amazing day if the weather is nice.

It wasn't too bad. I will say that driving in OSJ is a nightmare. Next time if I rented a car I'd stay in Condado.
Highly recommend Jose Enrique and Pikayo. And if you're renting a car, definitely do the Pork Highway in Guavate.

Yellowfin, where did you find it? I had someone walk me around to 3 different departments and we couldn't find any. They were actually quite baffled at my request.
Agreed, but an interesting thing about Boucherie is that they have a different international influence each month. This month it's an Asian thing, last month it was mediterranean. They'll basically have variations on the same items...I've noticed they always have duck confit and scallop dishes, but they change the influence on these each month. Always good stuff, though. The brisket is one of my favorite dishes in the city.
