When I say uncovered I mean not under an overhead cover like a patio or porch. I've been wanting to get one but I don't have a covered place to store it. With my Kamodo cooker it's held up being stored out in the open under a grill cover but I can never keep the cast iron grates from keeping the seasoning and not rusting up. I'm afraid if I get a Blackstone or alternative it will just turn into a giant rusty surface.

I can almost guarantee it will be completely rusted up unless you use it almost daily and oil well each time. Basicall'y it is like a big cast iron skillet. Mine stays under my carport at the house and even with a good oiling if I don't use it often it begins to rust very quickly.

you could put the steel cover and a grill cover to protect

you would more than likely have to clean/re-season more often though

I have a double burner cook top with a wide removable cast iron griddle. I’m not sure how it cooks compared to the black stone but it serves my needs pretty well. I like that I can do my cooking then bring it inside to store in the pantry. Also can use the burners to fry fish or whatever when not using the griddle.

Eh. I've got this metal cover for my blackstone and keep it covered with the plastic/cloth cover. I just leave it out in the elements. It's held up just fine and don't have any rust issues. I use it about once a week.

What nerd guy said. Clean it properly and oil it after each use like you should be doing and rust is not an issue. Mine has been outside with only a Blackstone cover on it for four years.

Depends on your climate. What will fly in an "ordinary" humid south location doesn't work at my lil house in the swamp. It would rust in a minute, even covered. I just went thru a late June/July where we got 6" of rain or more every single week for 7 weeks.

Know thy own microclimate.

I have a 4 burner black stone about 12 feet away and under my outside roof. Use every 2 weeks and I have minor rust spots

That's probably how mine will be stored. We're talking Auburn weather so no south LA swamps to deal with.
