I'm not sure why this idea popped into my head but it may be an interesting combination.

Do they pick up the flavor of the boil?

No, but sounds great. Especially if you added the egg as the topper to a crab meat Benedict!

some what. very similar to boiling eggs in gumbo. I like to poke a hole in the top with the tip of your knick and let them fill up with the liquid. get more seasoning.

I guess poaching you woul djust need to keep the temp right and and time it right.

Another thing i have done with gumbo but want to do in a boil is when the gumbo is simmering, making a little bowl in the center and crack and egg in there and let it cook.

Do the same thing with crawfish.

Not poached, but will try it.
Sprinkled on eggs to fry/scrambled... at least twice a week.

It's not really the same but just the other day I had the idea of poaching an egg in my Campbell's Bean & Bacon soup. I just left it in the soup. It was quite good.

I don't know. Is there a bad use for a poached egg?

Somebody was telling me about doing eggs in their instant pot the other day.

Anybody ever try that?

I’ve done it during a crawfish boil. It was very good however I would put a small bowl or something in the pot to poach the eggs in. Some of my eggs just disappeared when I put them in the pot.
