Looks like they closed a while ago and have been under construction for a good bit of Covid. I thought they may be doing this to get ready for Mardi Gras 2022. HOwever it appears that construction there has been paused and little progress has been made. My friends and I often go over there during parades as they serve cheap and quick food which is perfect for the situation.

Anyone more in the know know if they plan to reopen for Mardi Gras?

I was just trying to see if St. Stephen school was doing their fundraiser. I like their nonporta potty bathrooms. The website doesn't say like it normally does so I am assuming they are not opening either.

Owner said it will definitely reopen

This was a week or so ago via a NOLA.com article.

The Uptown location (4141 St. Charles Ave.) is slated to open later in February

Your link is broken FYI. But good to know. I found that article too but i don't subscribe to NOLA.com. They offered me 6 months for $1 so I was gonna take it but their registration portal is broken. It won't let me create an account . Can you copy some snips from the article?

The local restaurant group New Orleans Hamburger & Seafood Co. has locations spread broadly around the metro area. But that did little to spare them from the wide-ranging, highly-variable damage brought by Hurricane Ida last summer.

The powerful storm caused enough damage to roofs and other parts of the properties that four of the company’s seven restaurants remain shuttered all these months later, and a fifth is operating only with its drive-thru window for now.

However, company co-owner Gary Wiener confirmed this week that all of the locations will reopen. Each is in its own progression towards that goal.

quote:

The two locations now fully open are in New Orleans East (12000 E I-10 Service Road, at Bullard Avenue) and Elmwood (1005 S. Clearview Pkwy.), while the Harvey location (2515B Manhattan Blvd.) has its drive-thru window open for takeout only.

That Harvey location is expected to fully reopen in early February, along with the Oakwood Center location in Gretna (197 Westbank Expy.).

The Uptown location (4141 St. Charles Ave.) is slated to open later in February. This restaurant is along the St. Charles Avenue parade route, near Napoleon Avenue, and Wiener said it was important for the location to be open in “some way, shape or form” by the time parades roll, even if it hasn’t resumed full operations by then.

The two locations in Metairie (817 Veterans Memorial Blvd., at Martin Behrman Avenue, and 6920 Veterans Memorial Blvd., at David Drive) are slated to return by April.

The now-familiar labor and supply chain issues have made repairs stretch longer than foreseen at the start. But Wiener said the company is taking the long view and making improvements at each location, with different upgrades to design and equipment.

I used to work a few blocks from there and had totally forgotten about that place since I moved away. GOAT potato wedges. I can't defend their burger.

My neighbor gave me a gift card there for helping out just before Ida. Been holding that card waiting....

If they can open, they'd be foolish not to. Any restaurant/bar located on St. Charles - especially near Napoleon - prints money during Mardi Gras.

With the Parade Route being moved up it would not surprise me if they did not do it. I still think they could make some bank on it if they did. After the damage they took from Ida you would think they would try anything. I know I would still pay to use a clean safe bathroom.
