Anybody Have a Good Seafood Gumbo Recipe?

My wife is not big on cooking seafood. She hates it. But I asked her if she would make me some seafood gumbo and by some miracle, she said she would. Anyone have a good recipe they can share? I want something authentic.

Do you not like to cook?
Give it a shot--cooking a gumbo is a lot of fun and (in my opinion) very rewarding.

Shrimp and Crab Gumbo
I did a triple recipe in the video.
3/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup vegetable oil
Make roux (milk chocolate color)
Add 1-32oz container of Guidry's Creole chopped onion mix
Sauteed until the vegetables are soft...Add chopped garlic stir for a minute
Add (or not) 1-14.5 is can of chopped tomatoes and stir it into the roux
Add 1 lbs of frozen chopped okra...and water until it gets to the thickness you want.
Bring to a boil and add 2 lbs shrimp and 1 lbs of crab claw meat. Summer and stir for about an hour.
Add a pack of rinsed gumbo crabs and cook for an hour.
Season to taste. I used Tony's, pepper, Worcestershire sauce, LA Hot sauce.
Enjoy.

Dark Roux,
Add chopped vegetables and melt them down.
Add stock or water until you get a nice peanut butter colored gumbo the consistency you like. Let it cook for an hour or two. Add seasoning to taste
Add shrimp and crab fingers.
No tomatoes, okra is optional.
Nothing to it.

This but add oysters.

IMO, gumbo crabs are the key to a seafood gumbo. For my stock I use bay leaves, crabs, 1T Old Bay, 1T shrimp powder, and spice bag slow cooked over low heat, do not boil. Stock is strained and later added to roux for desired consistency. Add whatever seafood you like as I prefer shrimp, crabs, and oyster.

Bro. I mean really. You’re probably a really nice guy. Like, I have no ill will toward you when I say this. But you must hate your family. That’s an abomination of a gumbo if I have ever seen it. You made a watery seafood spaghetti with uncooked okra, colored with kitchen bouquet, served over rice. I don’t even know what to say.

Lol, I'm so much of an a-hole, I'll put like 1/8 of a can of crushed tomatoes in my gumbo, just to piss people off. I even pick the pieces out if I come across them,

Say...you are willing to have a Gumbo cookoff. And let's make it happen.

Seafood gumbo always taste better after sitting a day in the fridge. That's my contribution.

Come on dude, you have to be trolling. I don't bash people for putting tomatoes in chicken and sausage gumbo,....but seafood? You are masking the intended flavor.
