It's just roast beef. Some people think it's not a proper fancy meal without prime rib on the menu. Meh.

I'm with you. Maybe I've never had high quality prime rib, but I would much rather a steak or pork chop.

It's definitely overrated.

Only time it's good is when it's at a wedding or party. Because then it's an easy all-you-can eat beef dish that while overrated is still quite delicious.

I love it. Almost as much as beef ribs. It's not something I crave as often as a steak, but it is one of my favorites.

I guess my short answer is no.

It's a culinary relic. Belongs at cheap casino buffets, shitty wedding receptions, and Picadilly.

I pretty much pick a nice rare prime rib over a steak anytime it's on the menu. Some are better than others, but I really enjoy it.

Pedigos Cafe in Walker has a really good smoked one.

Completely different. If you aren't a fan of fatty beef that is fine. I enjoy both.

Yeah because ribeye is the exact same thing as prime rib.

comparing a rib roast to tri-tip is like calling the ribs, roast beef. 3 different parts of a cow.
