I recently came into a used one(about 8 years old) in excellent condition, and have yet to use the rotisserie or smoking options on it so just wondering how those features perform. My guess is the smoker option is marginal, at best, but I'm really intrigued with the rotisserie option.

I owned a Weber Genesis model for several years, and it always performed well enough, but this Summit blows it out of the water. Blows my mind a gas grill can get up to 700 degrees, and the sear burner probably gets hotter than that. I've so far only cooked a couple of steaks and pork chops on it.

I have the Genesis II S-335-SS with sear. Mine will get to 675 with the sear. So that's the three mains and the one sear wide open. I run natural gas and SS grates. I think with cast iron grates my temp would hit 700. Plenty hot for steaks.

BIL picked up a used Summit for a song. He cooked the Thanksgiving turkey on the rotisserie. He claimed it worked fine.

Maybe mine wasn't the Genesis. It was over 20 years old and just had 2 regular burners. The thermometer on it only went to 500, and I never got it up that hot. 475 is about as hot as it ever got.

I had one for 10 years. I got rid of it during a move because it was just too damn big and with kids leaving home, I didn't need it. I loved it. Cooked on it all the time. I have a cheap charcoal grill, now. That works great for me, now.

The Summit is a powerhouse and will last forever. I sold my 5 burner model for $400, even though it was 10 years old, and a guy bought it 20 minutes after I posted it on Next Door. He couldn't believe his good fortune.

I paid $250 for this one at a garage sale. I too could not believe my luck. I had decided I was going to buy a Genesis this spring. Guy still had the owner's manual and had never used the rotisserie attachment. I see now the rotisserie motor is integrated into the grill instead of a separate accessory. I really want to make some shawarma soon.
