I have seen the glass get dirty to the point of not seeing inside. But that could be the guy who I need it never cleaned it.

Agreed about the glass. It's pretty much useless after your first couple smokes.

I have it and have enjoyed it. The connectors on the inside of the back panel shorted out after about 3 years, but I was able to fix it.
It has been a great first smoker. Easy and gets the job done. Just make sure you empty the ash tray inside before you smoke or it will have trouble reaching temperature.

That looks like a gen 2 that sucks. Get the one from Academy for the same price. They usually put it on sale closer to Christmas. The Academy model is a better model. As far as the glass, just clean it after you smoke and it is all good. My glass is clear as a bell after numerous smokes.

Because it’s cheating

I have the 30" version of that smoker and I love it. The posts about the glass window being useless are BS. It is easy to clean.

I have this one and it is awesome. Would recommend.
This came off my Masterbuilt:

Main key is getting the one with the remote and meat probe.
Once you start smoking in an electric smoker, you realize that you cook to an internal temperature and not a desired duration.
I've been through two of the Masterbuilts and have smoked some excellent meats from them.

Get disposable stick and peel glass covers. Use them for a couple smokes and toss them.

This. The temp is the temp.

Get a pellet smoker, if you go through with this, get an AMNPS. See the last thread about electric smokers.
Had a masterbuilt and had a higher end electric. Pellet is the way to go for LazyQ.

I didn't see in the description if it shuts off when its meat probe (if it's included) hits the desired temperature. If it does, that's a bonus and one feature I'd love to have.
I use a gas smoker that I'm happy with and probably my favorite part is that there are two doors, one for the cooking chamber and a smaller one on the bottom for the drip pan and chip tray. You can tend to the chips without opening up the cooking chamber.

AS mentioned get the one from Academy. I paid $199.00 for mine last father's day. I use it often....works great.

Those work well for people that have apartments, and are trying to do an indoor smoke setup. They’re also great if you’re trying to smoke anything past the hundred hour mark.
I’ve got three smokers. The only one I’ve used for a plus hundred hour smoke is my Masterbuilt. I’ve added the A MAZE N smoke tube to it, and that’s been even more convenient. You can leave your house for an entire 8 hours and have constant temp/smoke without having to worry about anything. I can’t do that with my egg smoker.
Will it deliver a quality product? Yes
Will the glass get dirty? Completely
Is it safe for indoor smoke jobs? You bet
Worth $299? Maybe
Can you beat the convenience? Not with a stick

The reason I don't clean it more thoroughly is because after you season it you aren't supposed to use a bunch of degreaser or cleaners on the inside. Plus I don't find it to be terribly useful, but good on you guys for keeping yours clean if it works well for you.
