An electric is pretty much an oven and should only be putting out very thin blue smoke, you can vent it outdoors if you don't want your house smelling like smoke though. I know a few people that smoke indoors with masterbuilts, but they do using ducting to vent outdoors. They have fans to really clear it out when they are done smoking.

to each his own, but I couldn't imagine using my masterbuilt inside. The whole house will smell like smoke

The reason I don't clean it more thoroughly is because after you season it you aren't supposed to use a bunch of degreaser or cleaners on the inside.

I have never used degreaser in mine. I think that old build up on the walls adds to the flavor. As far as the glass in front, just use hot water and a blue scrubbing sponge while the smoker is still hot. It comes right off easy peasy. I like the ability to see what's going on when I'm cold smoking. FYI, get the cold smoke attachment and never have to refill the little hopper in the smoker.

Those work well for people that have apartments, and are trying to do an indoor smoke setup...Is it safe for indoor smoke jobs? You bet
I couldn't see this happening in a one bedroom apartment because the smoke would be overpowering.
