Any Laphroaig drinkers out there?

I was wondering if anyone out there can tell me the cheapest place to buy Laphroaig in baton rouge? I saw the standard 10 yr at Rouses for 60 bucks and I know there's gotta be a cheaper spot for that peaty nectar of the Gods.

My birthday is coming up and that means my wife gets me a bottle of Laphroaig, cooks me a porterhouse and sits through the big Lebowski with me, haha. It's become a pretty awesome tradition.

Love the stuff, but 60 bucks for 10yo? I haven't bought a bottle in a couple years but I could swear I was paying in the $35 range the last few times. I guess "global warming" is killing the peat and seaweed?

10 year should be probably $50 max at a store that does any kind of reasonable business. I don't know how pricing for Rouses is set up at the distributor, but max price for a case of 10 year is $42 a bottle for independent liquor accounts. 5 cases drops down to $34.

Chains get better pricing, but even if they get it at $42, a 30% margin is $54. If they're selling it for $60, they're either getting a terrible cost or trying to make an insane margin.

I would find the highest volume independent accounts and go there. They will be in on case pricing deals and have them lower in price to you.

They are a bit out of the way, but consistently cheaper than most places in town.

Me too, but Laph 10 isn't one. Spend the money on either Laph 18 or Lagavulin 16. Either one should be readily available in BR.

You will be happy with your purchase.

. I have to disagree. I find lag 16 to be too tame and overpriced. I love Laphroaig for it's iodine Briney peaty flavor. I have tried every Isley scotch on the market and Laphroaig 10 yr is my favorite..and it pairs fantastically with a steak

I also really like compass's peat monster. Ardbeg was too oily, talisker wasn't peaty enough. Laphroaig is god

Yah 60 is way overpriced. What a very interesting drink for sure. Even though I don't drink it regularly I still appreciate its niche and uniqueness.

haha fair enough. You'd probably really enjoy some of the Japanese whisky's out there like Hibiki. Really smooth with fruit and floral notes

I found a few for $20 over the last year or two. There was a promotion going on. I stocked up. At acquistapaces in Covington it's under $50.

A friend brought some to the camp a while back. Don't remember what year it was (the liquor) but none of us had tried it before. I think he gave around 50 bucks for it. It was absolute garbage. Poured that shite out...lol.

I typically stick to a specific range of taste, speysides for the most part, but enjoy branching out at times.

I remember paying about $35 at Elios last year. I love Islays when I’m in the mood. Not something I want to drink on a summer night. I enjoy the Laphroaig Triple Wood if you can get your hands on it.
