Any great sleeper places to eat on the way down to Venice?

We're going down Fishing out of Venice Monday and Tuesday and was wondering if there were any hidden gems on the way down (coming from Atlanta). I don't mean like famous New Orleans places or chains. I mean like Boudreaux's craw tater and daiquiri's out on the hwy that's good.
I grew up in Denham and usually make the trek to Baton Rouge to see family but never been down that way. TIA.
