Headed to the game tomorrow. Gonna be lodging in Meridian tomorrow night. Just wondering if there are any good places to get a bite outside of the typical chain restaurants. Not looking for anything fancy. Just good food.

Weidmann's is decent for what it is. Their quesadillas are good as an app but I would stay away from their steaks. The steak special I ordered one night had a ribeye that was about 1/2" thick and some frozen fried shrimp. Very disappointed.

Now my son and I had brunch there one Sunday and it was quite good. I think I had their version of eggs benedict which had andouille and fried green tomatoes on it. The French toast is very good as well.

For a town the size of Meridian, it has very few good restaurants.

Weidmann’s would be my choice.

We are staying at the Hampton Inn Friday night. I was looking around online today and we may try either Weidmann’s or the Harvest Grill. Looking for a decent burger/salad besides chain joints.

Mugshots for a quick burger. Rustler for a good steak.
Weidman's for white table cloth meal. Or go to the bar for drinks and appetizers.
Rib shack for down low BBQ.
New's restaurant for a double good burger, onion rings and the coldest beer in town.

If you don't mind the drive, go to Enterprise (20 minutes south of meridian) and go to Long's fish camp for catfish. Best hushpuppies and slaw you'll ever eat.

Is MeridianDog still around? Where ever that guy's address is - he was always posting some damn good food.

He actually said Weidmann's in a similar thread about this subject last year - LINK
