I'm making the drive from Houston to Grand Isle today to spend the weekend fishing. A buddy from Austin is flying into the Lafayette airport so we can pick him up along the way. Is there anywhere worth stopping in Lafayette to pick up some Louisiana beers to bring back to Texas? Close proximity to the airport is a bonus.

Parish is right down the road from the airport. You can get Bloom and Envie bottles I'd assume. They also have some new sours that are probably decent available for crowler fills....have to keep them cold on the way back to Tejas though.

Please explain the technique of obtaining beers on a Thursday, spending the weekend fishing (out of town) and still having beers to bring back home. I'm confused.

You assume they will only buy enough for the trip and not more than that to bring back?

Have you never been fishing?

You stop when you run out of beer. As long as there's beer, you gotta keep going. It's in the Constitution.

The weekend will be a taste test for what we need to pick up more of on our way back through on Sunday. I get quite a few good options in Houston but I'm always looking to expand my horizons. Thank y'all for the suggestions.

Now I'm beginning to understand.

Gonna have to settle for what's available in stores that day. Parish is closed.

Hate the idea of drinking something better than miller lite while fishing

Just seems snobbish. Or like what a hipster would do while fishing. Pulling in a nice redfish while drinking an imperial ipa

Nunu's in Youngsville may be the closest thing to HWY 90 with the widest variety of local beers as a one-stop shop. (Instead of going directly to Parish or Teche brewery taprooms)

They have a very good selection.

Just take 92-1(Young St.) right off of HWY 90 right to it. 3-4 miles from the highway.

This is why baws drive me fricking crazy. If I don’t drink Miller Lite sitting on my porch, why in the frick would I want to drink it while doing anything else, fishing included?

Baw brand loyalty is odd

Being proud of Miller Lite is akin to being proud of eating McDonalds and nothing else
