What are your favorites? Ever make them at home?

I usually just go to Overpass Merchant or Chow Yum for Bao if I want them. Haven’t branched out from there and it’s not something I’d make at home. But yep I love em

There's a place in downtown Auburn that makes them. It's called The Irritable Bao.

Nobody goes there, 'cause it's always too crowded.

This is the oxymoronic truth. I know of multiple people who live in Auburn who haven’t been because it’s too crowded and they close when they run out. I’ve tried three times and the line has been ridiculous.

I know it must be delicious for so many people to be willing to stand in line like that.

For OP: I love them. I need to learn to make them at home because I’m always left wanting more when the restaurants give me three or four. I could inhale a dozen of those things.

I walked by once and there must have been 50 people lined up outside the door. We got some beignets instead.

I got some once from the Asian market in town, pretty great with some pork belly burnt ends.

Haven't tried to make them myself.

Just looked it up. Only open for a few hours per day and closed 3 days per week.

Owners must be doing quite well.
