I had a really good Cioppino in New Orleans recently and now I'm craving it. I've made it a few times before but it's not the most practical dish to make for one.

Anyone know of a restaurant in Lafayette that serves this dish?

Try Marcello's. I think I remember seeing it on the menu last time we were there.

When Jolie's was open on Pinhook, they had an excellent cioppino stew.

Irene's, and it was very good. The only thing missing for me was calamari.

I got excited when you mentioned this but it's not on their menu. Yes, I do remember Jolie's Cioppino. I miss that place.

They do change their menu from time to time.

I would call and ask if it could still be had as an off-menu item, and if not, I'd ask when they might bring it back.

It was on my list of things to try there. Too late, now!

Good Cioppino in New Orleans - 1. Pelican Club... 2. Andrea's.....3.The old Broussard's used to have a great one but that was before the ownership and chef change.

I'm not a fan of pasta in my Cioppino.

Me either. I get it without pasta.

We almost did Pelican Club for the first time, but the Cioppino wouldn't have been my first choice. Would have gone with the trio of duckling. The carrot ginger soup sounded enticing, as did the outdoor seating. PC is on my bucket list, and I'm pleasantly running out of bucket list places.

This last trip was productive. First times included Irene's, Cooter Brown's, Jacques-Imo's, Tujague's, City Park, Audubon Park, picnic at the Fly, Bayona, American Sports Saloon, and a return to Fins for the wings app which I've never had. A big thank you for Harrah's casino for paying for my entire trip again.

The duck dish is great too. The Pelican Club is our favorite for the summer specials as well as the December Reveillon dinners.

Odd because that's one of the cheapest ingredients one might expect to see in it.

It's a fun dish to make.
