there is a ABE in River Ranch and it has normal rest. hours and is always packed. it is very well run, the food quality is very consistent and they turn tables over very fast so there isn't usually too long of a wait.

the one that just closed here in BR just fricked around with the hours way too much and then starting closing two days a week .. never really had normal restaurant hours .. always liked the food, it is just poorly run here .. the second location will prolly be gone within a year, which is ashame ... i love the one in destin, florida and have been to the one dick vitale raves about in tampa .. and it was great ..

The one in Siesta Key is a different concept.

That Mandina's was HORRIBLE. in food AND service.

I love Mandina's shrimp remoulade, their Nawlins chunky whitish-pink remoulade sauce rocks. And their fried trout dishes with sauces were solid. Still, the BR location never was to it's Nawlins standards in most regards.
I hope ABE makes it on Old Hammond..enjoy the one in Destin too..and just knew that moneypit location on O'Neal wouldn't last..it's helped kill every restraunt ever in there if not primarily due to bad concepts and ownership..Maggios, Lil Village, Beef O'Brady's,etc..Stabiler's Crappy Cafe is the only thing to ever have lasted in that shopping center.

What's different about it and where is Siesta Key?

The Siesta Key is not part of the Another Broken Egg Corporation. I have never been, so I don't know what their menu looks like.

i didn't ermjoy the abe either time i went. the food was poorly seasoned and overpriced. grits and grillades unimpressive.
just an overall bad value. not happy to see any locally owned restaurant close, but i'm not surprised that it did.

You act suprised??? You grew up down the road, name a restaurant that has made it in that shopping center..

When a restaurant starts cutting and shortening hours, it is only a matter of time before they close. We have a longtime deli and pub in Lake Charles, they have done the same thing. Next thing you know quality goes down, prices go up and "poof", doors closed. Sad, really.
Seems the next generation of ownership doesn't want to carry it on. Sad to say, but have seen it happen too many times. Silver spoon theory strikes again. They just want to play and not work!

What restaurant are you talking about? Another Broken Egg or one of the other ones? Another Broken egg on O'Neal was never open for dinner.
