Merry Christmas Tigers! My family and I usually go to Texas for The holidays and we have tamales Christmas Eve. This year we’re staying in town but I’d love to still do Tamale Christmas Eve. Does anyone know where to get good Mexican Tamales in the Baton Rouge area? Thank you all for your help!

Pass a dozen in Central is good. They are delta style.

Thank you! A neighbor of mine had just mentioned those as well.

You are welcome. They have a Facebook page. My mom brings me some when she comes for a visit. If you have had the ones from the Donut shop in Natchez they are very similar.

I’ve had someone bring about a dozen or more he picked up from Doe’s. They were hot and ready to eat and packed really good for transport.

I never had the ones already mentioned - but I lived in the Rio Grande Valley for a long time

The ones from Costco aren’t too bad

Back in October we ordered some from Delia’s in San Juan, TX - but they’re sold out for Christmas

Delia's is the GOAT. My in laws work in the RGV and grab as many Delia's tamales as they can each year and give them out during Christmas.

For the OP, you can get tamales from Texas Tamale Company delivered on Goldbelly. They're good tamales and travel well.

I'd say order from Delia's in the valley but I don't know if they'd get there in time at this point.

Yes Delia’s were very good. When we lived in Brownsville, Ybarra’s was our favorite - but they’ve been closed for a few years.
