Me too. I want to go really bad but I know it is 100% NOT what my husband wants to do on Friday night.

I like Alton, but his gumbo episode made me take everything he says with a grain of salt.
He stated very authoritatively that traditional Cajun gumbo would have boudin in it. I think he also said frog legs were commonly used. No and No.
Maybe I will try the boudin in gumbo. Hey, some folks thought potato salad was crazy.

We'll be in town that night. I really thought about it. Here's a review.
Meh. For that kinda coin, I would rather follow Arse around.

The core of the live show consists of two set pieces in the "Good Eats" tradition. Both involve devices invented by Brown and his team. One showcases the instantaneous creation of ice cream using a chamber built from water-cooler tanks and re-purposed fire extinguishers. The second features a tricked-out oven, inspired by kids' Easy Bake ovens and powered by a slew of high-powered rock 'n' roll lights, that cooks a pizza in three or four minutes. Both are fun bits of business (certainly a lot more fun than the many musical numbers the show contains — Brown is a mediocre singer and very basic musician). But they are thin in payoff in a big theater, and Brown uses them to burn a whole lot of time. Does not pizza cook quickly anyway? So he saves five minutes. Big whoop.

I hope it's not sold out, but then again I have a busy weekend coming up.

I have to admit, I don't really know shite about Alton Brown other than he had a cooking show on tv somewhere. I think.

I volunteer at the Saenger = free shows, so I might hit this one up.
