$1 long necks was the bomb. You could go get hammered for $20.

Hey Jerry - think I met you years ago.
Is that Miss Earlines in Zappa's pictures. Didnt look like it to me and I remember it being called Miss Earlines Alligator Hilton.

I think my Mom still keeps up with you some, at least she gives me updates every now and then, probably Facebook stories if I know her.
Glad you found the thread, too bad old places like Alligator Hilton are now just stories fading away.
Won't put my name on here, but went all the way from Dtown-EA together. And remember Betty baptizing me with water one time in lieu of going to church on Sunday morning.

Yes - those pics are from after the new owners took over. The old alligator tour boat is still there.

Pool tables at Tropical Gardens on False River had quite a lean also. Any old timers remember that place?

Oh yeah. My mom grew up in New Roads and we'd go there often to visit the family in the 60s/70s. My father and my uncles and friends would hang out there drinking and bring me with them as a kid. Great memories. You could see the water between the floorboards.

Her maiden name initials were BK and she graduated from Poydras in 1955.

I remember it as Earline and Red’s Alligator Hilton. Most challenging pool tables and those pickled eggs on the bar!

My wife has a shirt she found at a garage sale. If I can find it I’ll post a picture.

Saw my first and only knife fight in there. Man a stab wound really bleeds. That was eye opening.
I ate many plates of beans at Alligator Bar on Sundays and caught tons of big bream and shot lots of ducks in Spanish Lake.
All of those glory days are behind us gentlemen.

I'll post mine one of these days. It's a purple v-neck w/ white collar and sleeve cuffs if I remember correctly. I have it in storage somewhere
