update.....Red Ale wasn't all that for me. Great intial taste but the after taste it left was bad. Won't buy it again. Abita still rules though!!

I had the red ale on tap at Mandinas a couple of weeks ago.... i really enjoyed it...it had a lot of "drinkability" ...i think I prefer it over amber

i tried the lazy magnolia pecan last week and wasnt that thrilled about it. i think the abita pecan is better. to each his own.

Southern Pecan is definitely the better pecan beer. The Red Ale is Abita's take on the Irish Red style beers that everyone is putting out right now. Sam Adams also has one now. Both are not bad. They are supposed to be versions of Killians, both are definitely better though.

I really like the red ale as well, much better IMO than other red ales from the big boys.

I really like the red ale too. It's hoppier than the amber, but not too bitter. Like most abitas, its very crisp and very drinkable, but not as full bodied as some might like.
But turbodog and andygator are the best abitas.

Found a six pack of Abita Strawberry Lager at Rouse's in Thibodaux last night.
Only three left on an end cap with nothing but Abita products. Defintely the most popular.

BackWoods - Which store says they are getting it? I've tried Cuban and Thrifty in S'port and they are not sure. I think I'm about to try the distributor and see if I can get the scoop from them.

its decent.. nothing like strawberry though.
I can drink abita amber for breakfast. IMO its the best beer made. I like purple haze pretty good too.
Only abita beer i dont care for is jockamo.
I can only handle a couple strawberrys abitas at one time though.

I love the red ale. Plan on pounding them back at the old metry st pats day parade tomorrow if the weather permits.
I was at a Winn Dixie in Metairie and they had a ton of Strawberry, and I believe I saw it last weekend at Rouses Clearview@West Metairie.
I never have cared for the Pecan.
That and Jockamo are the two Abita products I dont care for.
Andygator is decent on draft. Will mess you up quick. Ive only had the Abby twice, I like it.
Last time I was at the brew pub I tried the Oatmeal Stout, which I liked. Drank much lighter than it looked. Looking forward to trying the Satsuma as well.

They don't sell it here, so I have a taste-test planned in the near future.
Say girl.
ETA: Did someone really call out Bud and Miller for having a bitter taste?!
EATA: Abita Strawberry is the shite.
