I normally use Louisiana, it's cheap, easy to find, and always consistently good. Due to the early decent prices on bugs, we've been boiling a lot this year.
I tried the Chackbay recipe everyone suggested, without adding in the cayenne/red pepper. They were good but I could tell they were missing something. I had to order mine off amazon, y'all have bought every pack from Rouses Antioch.

Everyone that ate the swamp dust bugs gave compliments, though I didn't follow the directions. They instruct to dump half in pot, half in icechest on bugs after they've been pulled.

The frog bone was good, maybe a little salty. Doubt it will be my go-to, but I'd buy it again.

The Cajun Land is next on the list to try. I'll update y'all once I've tried it.

All in all, I say boil with a different seasoning every time and enjoy what each has to offer.

I've done the same thing this year.

I'm sort of thinking that LA with some added heat, and a citrus flav other than lemon added to it is the best.

I felt like Chackbay was just lacking in too many areas.

Swampdust's steam job ain't happenin.

Cajun Land is really similar to LA.

Might be fun to just mix'em all up in bucket next weekend.

My favorite.

Of course, that's just an opinion. Others might like a different brand.

Friday i swapped in cajunland powder for my usual zatarans and I really liked the outcome. I still used other zatarans seasonings in the liquid and bag though. There was a noticable difference in taste.

I really like cajunland. I tried chackbay onsome shrimp this weekend, it was good but I didn't enjoy it as much as cajunland. Different flavor and would like to try it on some bugs.

My go to is LA with some shots of liquid proboil for spice and equal parts lemon and orange.

my favorite is the Louisiana fish fry products seasoning with about a pint of minced garlic added to the water in a cheese cloth.

Cajun land is our fav, but we have tried most of these. Louisiana is a close 2nd but we've attempted to use various ones from Cajun Wholesaler website.

since i couldnt get chackbay, i went back to La seasoning with liquid boil

I only boiled 1 select sack

I used 1 bag of La + 1 small bag

12 oz of liquid

32 oz of lemon juice

Plus the garlic, onions, etc

They had some heat. The veggies were too hot though. I mean i am so use to throwing the veggies in when i cut the fire but they are just too freaking hot to enjoy like that. I am going to have to wait until about 15 minutes before pulling them to drop them in.

it has potential. There is just no heat with chackbay which is why you have to put alot of liquid.

flavor is good though.

However, seeing how you have to order it online now, i will stick with La. for now

I did a very small boil (10lbs) and used a bag of Chack, about 1/2 cup of cayenne, 3-4oz liquid, and 3/4 tube of salt...

no way those crawfish shoulda been bland but they kinda were. i'll stick to LA
