That's awesome. Used to piss me off as a server when someone would send their food back because they just didn't love it (not that it was made wrong or too salty or anything) or because they changed their mind.

Not my fault you don't know what smothered chicken is, took the risk and ordered it, and decided it isn't something you like.

why should he be expected to read through numbers of anonymous posts?
I'm not saying he should sit down every night and try to read every comment, every blog post, every discussion board post about his restaurant. I'm sorry if I haven't been clear. I'm only talking about us posting our opinions to each other. If he wants to read them or not is up to him but it just surprises me that he is so against all of them. I figured that they might be useful every now and them. Again, that doesn't mean that he has to read every single one of them.

Happened to me the other night. Ordered something that I will never order again. No clue if it tasted like the ethnic dish it was styled after, but whatever. It tasted pretty good, interesting dish, but I have no clue what I am talking about if I critiqued it.

Problem is that you aren't PM'ing your opinion and should be aware of this when posting about it.

I think that's also why a lot of us, including myself, post here and don't post reviews on yelp, urbanspoon, etc. We enjoy the discussion aspect of it instead of here's my opinion and suck it. If someone googles and finds posts on a particular restaurant, they will see the whole discussion.

There are other avenues than on websites that your words last forever.

Example, R2R was mentioning how NOLA Smokehouse had fatty brisket. A problem that has been solved with how they offer selection of brisket. R2R's comment will stand for eternity and someone googling might only see that comment and not the correctiom that follwed pages later.

A customer could decide not to go on that comment, or worse yet, go with that statement nagging in their head. Let a brisket be borderline fatty and their assumptions, they will feel, are justified.

So it's my fault that some people are short sighted enough to let a single comment on a single website dictate whether the eat at a restaurant enough?

I went to a bachelorette party at Rock n Sake and one of the girls in the party ordered all of this "weird" sushi. She hated half of it and tried to swap it out for other stuff. They were like, "Ma'am, you ordered it and nothing is made incorrectly on it".

I actually am on the fence about e-mailing the restaurant we went to this weekend because the waitress ran the bill incorrectly and when we pointed it out, she said the computer did it and then walked off without even attempting to fix it or even saying thank you/good night. It was really weird.

That's awesome.
And a true story.

Heard him tell another party of 4 with a real bitch of a woman this: "Sir, the table of 12 next to us is way too loud and they're being quite obnoxious" - Response: "Ma'am, were quite full tonight and I could use your table to seat some other people who aren't gonna bitch about everything... I think you need to leave"!

Where do people get off thinking that's an ok practice?

No one has to be at fault. It can explain why some people dislike a medium used for voicing an opinion though.

Oh get this one: Thug looking dude ordered a seafood platter from my old coworker. The appetizers come and are eaten.. and he realizes what he ordered is too large and tried to change it, but they are already in the fryer at this point so we tell him he cannot change his entree. It will be on the bill.

He received the seafood platter, eats it, and gets the bill. Pays with cash, purposely shorts the waitress by the $30 that the platter costs, and was gone by the time she picked it up.

Yes, for not knowing the difference between the flat and point

He voiced his opinion on his favorite restaurants in the city and we all think that's great, myself included.

I'd like to know if he has a favorite brunch spot in town. Chef?

I ate a spago in Beverly Hills a fee months ago on a weeknight and Wolfgang puck was kind enough to come around to all of the tables...he took pics with everyone and made small talk. I was really shocked that he still worked in the kitchen at his places.

Brunch is a word of curse.
I don't cook eat, eat it, think about it.

Once you spend a Sunday poaching cases of eggs, you'll agree.

I mean, if it was incorrect then it should be corrected. You could either call or email, imo.

It wasn't incorrect in the amount, necessarily.

Went with 4miles and his lady. Bill was $250. He gave the waitress a $50 GC and told her to split the other $200 between his card and Jones' card. She instead split the bill first and used the GC on our half, and not on his half. When we pointed it out, she basically said there was nothing she could do about it. And then she walked away without even saying thanks or anything.

Jones ended up just tipping $50 for everyone, so that evened it out. So us fixing it ourselves is what keeps me from bringing it up to them.
