A good muffaletta > a good po boy.

They are both great sandwiches, but I'll take a muffaletta every time.

I fully expected to see the white sauce sandwich from Alabama.

But can we all laugh at Arkansas now?

Arkansas: Fried Bologna Sandwich

Fried bologna sandwiches (that are actually grilled) can be found on many no-frills restaurant menus throughout the Natural State. But the best happens to be at this truck stop in Gurdon. Southfork’s ain’t fancy, but they serve up a mean version of this lowbrow lunch. Thick pieces of baloney are served on white bread with lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion and a generous slab of mayo. Just the way it should be.

I've eaten a muffaletta before just never from the place mentioned in the article.

Is this the OT?

Muffalettas should be room temperature, not hot. When cold cuts get hot, they get greasy. They're called cold cuts for a reason

You can heat them up so that the crust is warm and crisp but the cold cuts stay cold though.

You NEED to take it home and toast it in the oven to bring out the olive oily goodness.

Salumi are eaten at room temperature. Heating them melts the fats the charcutier worked so diligently to make supple and luscious, and turns them into a puddle of oil, sitting on top of bread that has already been oiled.

They chose the Elvis sandwich for MS. Who eats that nasty shite? I would've thought that they'd at least try to work in some kind of catfish or chicken sandwich.
