$22 for "Bread Service"?

Is this the "new norm" even in New Orleans?
I mean you do get olive tapenade, extra virgin olive oil, and sugar cane butter, so I guess I shouldn't complain?
Anyone ever heard of this place or know anything about it?

That seems a little excessive, but I guess depends on how much bread you are getting and does that price include refills.
There are some places here in Birmingham that do that, or will charge for additional bread after the first basket. Some of the nicer restaurants that have really good bread/oil or something may charge like $4-$5 now. The ones I frequent, i've ended up preferring it because now I can just order however much we want upfront instead of trying to keep getting more if we want/need more.

Little Village bread is like $20. We get it every time we go.

They generally just buy from a local bakery and charge 3x the price. I skip and simply go to a bougie bakery and buy directly to eat at home if the mood hits.

In house breads may be justifiable. Better have a basket for me to choose from and not just one or two styles.
Seem a bit pricey across the menu, but not insane. $25 for a burger is unfortunately almost par these days.
Fwiw, the bread service is on their Instagram. Doesn't look $22 worthy.

Yeah, my post assumed they were house made by looking at the website.
I didn't think they were just gussieing up Leidenheimer pistolets.

That’s reasonable. I’m not about to eat a bunch of bread while at a good place though.

Seems the last few year bread service for a fee is now a thing. $8-$10 is what I'm used to seeing, but $22!
