If anything, I'm given a little hope that the people surveyed perceived Sam Adams to be a better beer than the rest of the list. They are the only craft brewery that advertises mainstream nationwide, as far as I know.

Sam Adams is one of only 2 beers I poured out. The other was Sheiffer Light. Hate that crap.

Abita used to have a nationwide ad campaign; it's actually not terribly hard to find here in San Francisco come to think of it.

Abita advertises locally for sure, they are available all over the country.
I guess I assume it's only local, I've never seen an Abita as anywhere else.

Smithwicks is my favorite tho its not a USA beer. Abita Amber is good. I mostly just drink Old Charter though.

I remember there being some big deal several years ago in that Abita put out a national ad spot on the Grey's Anatomy season finale or something like that. It was the ad with the Benjy Davis song.
