I wonder if they are still planning to open it to 50%? If so we still have 50 bays to go...

50%? At the press conference on Saturday the ACOE guy said they believed they would only need 25% to maintain 1.5mill cfs. Has something changed?

Last I read was the plan is to open about 30-35 bays, but it could be incorrect.

Based on the flow rate calculation specifications and the amount of water passing Vicksburg and Natchez, seems they are going to need to displace 800k-900k ft3/sec of flow. I thought that was more in the 40-50% capacity for Morganza, when combined with ORCS

hmmmm

multiply flow at RRL by .7 and whatever of that is over 1.5million will need to go through Morganza

this may not be foolproof, but its close

30% at RRL goes through OR, the rest comes to BR unless it exits the system at morganza

I think RRL is south of ORCS. Another way is to take the flow at Natchez, subtract 2.12 million (the amount ORCS drains off plus the amount that BR can withstand). What is left is the amount they have to pull of at Morganza.

Last projection I saw was about 2.3 at Natchez. That means you would pull off about 180 at Morganza.

Add that to the flow through ORCS and that is some serious water flowing down the Atchafalaya. Probably not to much less than when the MS is low
