River at the top of the Morganza spillway?. . . . .

Can anybody confirm? Fox just showed some pics it's about two feet from coming over the top of the spillway?

I passed over it Sunday and it was about 5-7 feet from the top. I wouldn't doubt it is that far up now.

I was there yesterday, it isnt about to come over. Its about 3-4 feet from the top of the levee. There were reports that it was 5-7, but its less than that.
I am assuming that their definition of about to come over is inches and if so, that is not true.

Yeah, I'd say it's less than that. Like I said, it was about 7 or so whenever I passed Sunday.

When they open that structure the velocity on those first few gates is going to be unreal.

its not gonna settle for a long time either, opening even 50 gates is gonna seem to do nothing do the level on the high side

Just as the news man said I am curious what they were doing on the levee between the forebay and the river. Seems a little pointless to work on that one right now.

same here
i could see if they were opening the potato levee more or something like that to allow more flow into the forebay
other than that, idk
